What if civic education could move beyond memorizing facts and become an opportunity for students to question, discuss, collaborate, and use their voices? In this session, participants will be introduced to the We the People program and explore how its inquiry-based approach can bring civic education to life in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms. Participants will learn about the program’s structure, instructional strategies, and benefits for student engagement, critical thinking, discussion, and civic participation. Through hands-on activities and small-group discussion, participants will experience strategies they can adapt to their own classrooms, regardless of grade level or subject area. The session will also include opportunities to share ideas, ask questions, and discuss practical ways to incorporate We the People principles into existing curriculum.
