This continuous session will cover several topics that build on one another to equip teaching professionals with a trauma-informed framework, practical skills and tools to use with children with this framework in mind, and self-care practices that help prevent burnout and vicarious trauma and promote healthy lifestyles so teachers can keep teaching.  The first part will cover Trauma-Informed Care, trauma and Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences (PACEs).  The second part will review the hand model of the brain and practical application of skills to use with children focused on feelings, movement, breathing techniques which allow for children to make decisions.  Finally, participants will learn about components of self-care and identify professional and personal supports that help prevent adversity and also heal from experiences of burnout and vicarious trauma.
