About me
Allen Kidd has been teaching Japanese here since 2005 and was the 2022~2023 Muncie Central High School Teacher of the Year. He has served as sponsor of the MCHS Recycling Club since it was founded by students in 2008.Kidd grew up off the grid in northeastern Minnesota near Canada and Lake Superior. He attended Bemidji State University and first went to Japan in 1991 as an exchange student with an all-expense-paid iron ore scholarship. Kidd taught English in a Japanese public junior high school for two years and then spent eight years working for Japanese companies in Japan and Michigan. He then earned teaching credentials at Michigan State University and is proud to be a fourth generation public school teacher.
